Necromutants (kissy lips)

So recently I've painted Semai's heretics trio to provide Dark Masters some more power for the coming Warzone game. My One True Foe is now waiting for his Cybertronic canned meat to be painted so I hope to see brutal battle within 2-3 weeks in Elbląg outskirts area 😊

While waiting for the battle I started painting some terrain pieces to make dark future battlefield bit more interesting. Looking for some ideas I've found Marijn's thread on Warzone Eternal FB group - long story short: the guy painted necromutants but gave them torn-off / wounded mouth. If you remember old Warzone artworks such thing appeared on Studio Parente's and Paul Bonner's works for example.

I remember while finishing my necromutants band I was wondering about painting faces similar way but thought that might look just silly. And that was until I've spotted Marijn's post. I liked his result so much whole team got plastic surgery right away! 😁
Looking at them now I am sure it was right move - such vibrant color in the middle of the model surely catches attention. Now back to painting oil drums...

And as for reference materials I've mentioned earlier - some ideas if you want to take your models to necro-dentist, veterinarian or whoever provides them health care 😁

Necromutants squad - nearly done!

Hey all,

Looks like my long-distance plan to get Necromutants painted is nearly executed:
last week I've managed to move 3 more of those brain-deaders to the painted side of the force, so apparently there are only 3 models left: centuriion (squad leader) and 2 troopers.

Funny thing those models:
it's like one / twice every year me and my buddy get into "Warzone nostalgia" which result is playing maybe 2 games and in my case - painting couple of oldie minis.
I really like it must say, that "flashback factor" or as I call it "time travelling" makes painting Warzone stuff more enjoyable then other hobby shit in my possession.
Also kinda makes me feel old ^^

But I also think maybe it's a good thing, to look deep into self, calculate balance of profits and loses, philosophise a bit instead of "just" slapping paint on the toy soliders. Miniatures hobby has many  different aspects I guess.

Right...
So below you can see those recently painted trusty Algeroth's soliders.
I tried to keep similar color scheme on the whole squad (like these and blurred these and these ), so they look coherent on the table. As you can see pics taken in 2016 were fucked by Photobucket so looks like sooner or later I'm going to take fresh photos of the collection.

As for the Eradicator Deathdroid you can see in the background, it was painted in 2015
I've always like it: pure killing machine, looks cold and heartless and rather serious,
not like all those GW walkers with ton of skullzzz, spikezzz, candles (!!!) and other shit.

During moving to the new place sth got wrong: hope the pins I nailed it to the base are ok but the model bends forward, which might request some more glue or maybe extra pinning.
Since it's on the painting station I thought I could upgrade it a bit:
I am about to order some paints so I could get Tamiya's Clear Red and make the chainsaw REALLY gory (that actually reminds me oldie Mayhem's Chainsaw gutsfuck...). I could also add more chipping and give it some oil washing - should look nice on those large surfaces.
Sounds like a plan - but that's after the Necromutant family is complete.

Hail Algeroth!

(PS. it's the first post put also on FB "mirror" of the bloggy if you care to give it a like)

Sth ugly, sth green and sth for sale

Hey again,

This post is slightly delayed - on purpose.
It was prepared about week ago but since I didn't want to ruin the surprise (about which bit later) the publish button had to wait. Tough life mr button!

As mentioned in title the post is about 3 main somethings: ugly, green and for sale.
The first one is something ugly. Not the ugliest thing I've ever painted but surely solid candidate for the pig party: Ragathol, nepharite of Algeroth.

I remember I got the model few years back with some other old junk. I remember this cocker had pretty useful rules and stats but when it appeared we were already out of Warzone gaming. Which couldn't stop me from painting this beautie.
Apart from the fact I keep lots of feeling for old models this one is also kinda warming-up before painting something really ugly. The model X is also from Warzone range and since even I call it ugly you can try to imagine the scale of the depravation...
Anyone taking a guess?

The colors used were taken from the original artworks so there's not much of my invention on this field. Paint was sealed with lots of matt varnish so I hope to see it on the gaming table sometimes. In narrative game / campaign maybe...

Something green!
Or better - greenish.
This blob is one of my favorite models ever. Or to be specific - 5th ed Warhammer greenskins army is the thing which dragged me into the hobby and I think Kev Adams' gobbos is the very best of it: funny, nasty faces, evil grins. Painting is pure pleasure!

The specific one is one of few greenskin doubles I had. It was painted for Mr Bugman so the poor guy has one model less to paint for the army (hope you're already started painting, Nav). Color combo is something different than classic night gobbo but I wanted to give a try to some warm and vivid colors so I can use them for my greenskins display gang.
Hope it came safe and sound and you like it!

And something I don't need anymore.
This time there are 3 models I'd like to get rid of - preferably sale but I could also exchange  them for something. Not sure what really ^^

You've seen it already - zombie bust. 10$ + shipping and Paypal fee and you can get yourself rotting paperweight!

Another one was a train man (?) from Pulp City.
Sold while I was writing the post bus since I've already uploaded the piture...

And chaos troll / mutant / whatever.
It was scaly in my Scavvies gang but Now I play "pure" gang only so this one had to do some space for the shorter cousins. 25$ + shipping anyone?

And the last thing- which also happened while I was assembling the post.
The mailman delivered some stuff!
About a month ago I spotted some oldie White Dwarfs and rulebooks on Evilbay. Nodays you can actually get such materials pretty cheap if you are into such an archeology. Anyway I've never been big fan of White Dwarfs - most of ones I've seen are from placcy era, where all you can read about is super-duper army deals and "promotions".
But it turned out there are some articles about Necromunda and 'munda battle reports plus some other stuff from 90s' which in my opinion was the golden era ot GW. I won the auction for barely nothing, whole shipping cost was much more severe than the content.
Here's what I got, lots of painting reference materials, fluff to read and ideas to use.
Me happy. Yet still cannot believe GW stopped supporting specialist games.

Phew!
Pretty lot of pictures as for my single post, hope to deliver some more shortly!
